How to Reduce your Energy Bill!

Breton Electric is committed to helping our customers save money. We also support efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

We try out different types of indoor and outdoor compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) in our own home and are always researching information and product sources so that we can help our customers choose the most efficient and effective way to light their homes and businesses.

Luckily, there are many excellent resources for energy-saving tips. There are also many groups that provide information about steps we can each take to reduce our carbon emissions.

For Everyone:

Click HERE for a really interesting and informative blog by Energy Conservation Engineer Birney Summers that provides a wealth of practical ways to save energy expenditures.

For Wakefield Residents:
Wakefield Municipal Light & Gas Department (WMGLD) is a great resource!

For Massachusetts Residents:
Energy Star Lights Catalog Program offers special savings to customers of participating utility companies, including NSTAR, National Grid, and many local utility companies, including WMGLD.

For US Taxpayers:
Special energy efficient tax credits are available to homeowners, homebuilders, and businesses for improvements and purchases made within specific timeframes, depending on the product. See the following links for more information:
